In Print..

....my little French-style sewing tray...

...is in the current issue of STITCH magazine!

This one is my photo of the finished item...

...I really enjoyed making it and can't wait for it to come home so that I can actually use it!!

I hope plenty of lovely folk will decided to have a go and make one for themselves :-D

PS

I have been unable to post any comments on anyone else's blogs for ages now....and it's pee'd me off a lot. But......I discovered today that it's a CHROME thing.....If I use Firefox instead....Yey....I can post comments. So I may not be quite so quiet from now on. :-)

1st Mixed-Media "house" finished!

Here's the final thing...finished today.

A bit of stamping....

...a bit of die-cutting....

... a  bit of embossing...

...and a brad...

...which I then decided I really didn't like!

So...

...after a bit of rootling around...

...I was rewarded with the perfect bit of "stuff"...

...that I like MUCH more!

(Even though my workroom is now covered in bits of hair and fluff!)

Isn't he/she gorgeous?! :-)

Hope you all have a wonderful and creative weekend.

Pootling

Now all my samples are done for Friday...

...I'm in a bit of a quandary as to quite where to go next.

Yes...I have many, MANY projects in mind...

...but after a sustained period of doing for other things/people/publication...

...I find that when all the list has been ticked, I sort-of get a bit "stuck".

So, on my desk this Wednesday morning is this little pile of stuff.

I do so enjoy my "Lavender and Lace" theme...

...and always seem to be able to motivate myself if I have a play around with it!

After visiting the show at the NEC last weekend...

...I came back with loads of lovely mixed-media goodies, bought especially for this purpose. :-)

I'm thinking about twelve panels for a 2018 calendar...

...more small books...

...and some free-standing pieces too.

Watch this space...

Holiday Treasures #1

Finally back home...

..and completely done in!

But...

...I'm now re-discovering all the treasures I picked up while in France. :-)

Wonderful old rubber stamps of old French coins...

...and delightful Cicadas and generally "Provencal" images - just right for my "Lavender & Lace" bits.

Coming across a Brocante market on our last day in the Perigord allowed me to bag some beautiful lace, buttons and bobbins....

...and a couple of handwritten documents....one from 1822....

Love the elegant writing! :-)

I need a bit of time to do think of something with them though....

Have a great weekend

Lavender & Lace with Gwent Embroiderers

Well!!  What a lovely day...

...with a lovely bunch of creative and clever ladies!!

Saturday morning started with me going out into the snowy white landscape that is my mountain-top...

...and driving down to Croesyceiliog for a day with Gwent Embroiderers.

They had chosen to do my Lavender & Lace tag set...

...so, after I'd covered two tables with goodies for them to play with...

...they set about creating beauty!! :-)

Work in Progress.....

...and the finished pieces....

Beautiful work Ladies!!

...and Thank You for a wonderful day :-)))))

Lavender and Lace book finished!!

It's been a while...

...and various lurgy-bugs in between...

....I've finally finished this Lavender and Lace sample...

...all ready to show the lovely ladies of the Gwent Embroiderers Guild on Saturday.

Hopefully they'll be inspired!! :-)

The two final panels were done...

(I'm making quite a lot of use of cutting dies lately...)

...and put in their own places...

...and is so nice to hold in the hand...

...a makeover...

I decided a little while ago ....

...that it was about time my blog had a bit of a "makeover".

It's been stuck with the same colours/fonts etc for quite some time now...

...and I liked the idea of a slightly "gentler" colour scheme.

So....

...here it is...

... more along the lines of my "Lavender & Lace" theme.

I'm pleased with it...

Happy Easter lovely people.

Lots and lots of goodies to play with...

I've been going through boxes and drawers...

...picking out all sorts of bits n bobs...

...to use in my "Lavender & Lace" pieces.

Gorgeous old French linens picked up on holiday...

...some dyed....some not...

A bird's nest of sari silks in glorious colours...

Empress Mills' Egyptian Cotton dyed with Colourcraft "Lavender" Procion Dye...

and my wonderful spray-booth paper covered in all sorts of Brusho colours!

(This is the paper that is underneath everything that I spray. Colours get built up one on top of another...and I end up with the most beautiful papers to play with!! :-)

Hi di Hi!!

Too many choices!!

This is my desk this morning...

...beginning work on another "Lavender & Lace" panel.

Shall I use this lace edging?...

....or that one?

Should I include a bit of printing?...

I think I need a cup of tea!!
