...complete with tiny holes to make shaded textured areas...

Bloody thing's printed BACKWARDS AGAIN!!!

You'd have thought that after making this very mistake with the first angel...

...I'd have learned to reverse the drawing before transferring onto the lino wouldn't you!!?

Bloody well SPEECHLESS!!

.....and feeling a right prat! :-(

At Last!! ...a brown print...and an Empress article!

Ink arrived...

...rolled onto lino block...

...printed onto soaked paper...

Ta Da!

First onto plain paper...

then onto paper that had been sprayed with Brusho.

I much preferred the second so set to work with a scissors...

....and glued the result onto some vellum card.

REALLY pleased with results...

...not too "leafy-looking" ?!

So forward march...

... with the Stretton Sugwas Sampson block :-)

...while still waiting for my brown ink...

...I've been working on a couple of pages featuring the Sampson Tympanum at the church of St Mary Magdalene at Stretton Sugwas...

...where we visited the Saturday before last.

It was originally in the priory church, but was moved to this new one and installed inside.

It is a magnificent piece of stone carving - in the Hereford School style.

Here's my rendition...

...drawn using water-soluble graphite...

...then sprayed with Brusho.

I did another page but in close-up...

...ready for another lino block...
