Brooches! Brooches! Brooches!!!

...and even more Brooches! :-)

Here is one of my famous "piles"....

...all ready for Aiguille en Fete in March.

There are many, many more besides these....

...so that's a LOT of stitching and beading!!

Back to stitching...

I've been a bit distracted with other things these last few days...

...but I made myself sit down and continue with the block prints that I had been working on previously.

These latest Colouricious blocks are giving me so many ideas...

...and I'm having such fun doing all the twiddly bits!

The bead tray is calling.....

Happy Tuesday lovely people

A veritable feast of embellishment!!

I've been very busy...

...stitching and beading...

...around the edges of my block prints.

It's all very time consuming...

...but the end results are well worth the effort!

I have a few more pieces to go...

...then I have to do it all again in order to write it up as a project!

Oh! How I love my job :-D

Stitching and beading...again!

This is the top panel...

...which will soon be joined by four different ones...

...in a little project that I'm working on using Colouricious blocks (of course!).

I love my bead tray...made out of a cheap IKEA picture frame and some fluffy fabric!!

Have a great weekend

FINISHED!!! (Lots of piccies)

My new "Medieval Tile" workshop sample book has been finished...

...in plenty of time for my stint at Wooler with the NE Region of the Embroiderer's Guild.

All panels have been attached to heavy watercolour pages...

...and the reverse of each page has been covered in printed tissue and stamped tile prints.

I've decorated around the edges with little pennants and sparkly bits...

....which gives it a rich finished look.

I am very happy with it!

I stitched an extra one for the cover...

...and put the others on each of the six inside pages...

...with nice "back-sides"!! :-)

This is how it looks from the top.

I like these books done using binding rings...

...but the next one will be a folded one again!

Can't have life getting TOO repetitive can we?! :-D

In case you don't already know...

...all my lovely print blocks come from Jamie at Colouricious...

...and my metallic threads, cotton and felt fabrics from my "family" at Empress Mills

(I really can't imagine what my life would be like without these lovely people around!)

Medieval glitz!

I've managed to get a few hours of beading done over the last couple of days....

...and am very pleased with the results so far!!

Here are some of the Medieval Tri-Fold Book samples  for my Arts Alive workshop on the 1st & 2nd November.

Remember that chequered piece made from the bits rescued from the bin?....

....I've now beaded the intersections and put some tiny rhinestones in the middle of the punched-out designs.

I also decided to "distress" a Markal tile piece....

...but with gold leaf and beads!

My prancing critter got blinged-up with some couched gold braid....

...and I've now got some prepared tissue ready to go with some gold foiling done.

I'm sure that Medieval times were very, very stinky, dirty, difficult and uncomfortable....

....but MY take on the period is one of absolute opulence!!

Artistic licence.....:-)

...beginning the finish...

...been feeling really stressed over the last week...

.....as the Bloke says,  " the last 10% is always the longest..."

How right he is!!

Writing...

...beading...

...more writing....

....more beading....

....putting things together....

....even more writing....

Sneak peak...

...nearly there...
