...and in some SUN at last!!!!
I went to take part in a lovely (applique bag) workshop yesterday...
...with the extremely talented Reiko Kato.
It's the largest workshop I've ever been to, with over 50 participants.
Being in France .... one starts with breakfast :-D
...and only afterwards does the cutting and stitching begin!!
Lots of lovely samples to entice...
...and the usual messy worktables!
The "Demo Huddle"...
...more samples...
This was all arranged by Cecile Franconie of "Facile Cecile" Thank you Cecile!!
We will be meeting again on Thursday at Nantes ...
...for the Salon Pour L'amour du Fil.
Just because I'm supposed to be on holiday doesn't mean no stitching or shopping - right!!??

Scunthorpe weekend....by Alex "Under a Topaz Sky"
Monday, 1 August 2016
A wonderful weekend in Scunthorpe!! (WARNING - lots of piccies!!)
We've had a really wonderful time up here in the North East of England...
....and a lovely couple of days with the ladies of the Scunthorpe Branch of the Embroiderer's Guild.
I did a talk on Tribal Textiles and how they have inspired my stitching....
...followed by tea and chocolate cake!! :-)
Yesterday was "Workshop Day"...
...where we played with printing blocks during the morning...
... and then stitched some Amulets in the afternoon.
After a lovely few hours...
...I went back to the Gladdyvan...
...put The Man in The Van...
...and went off to see "Julian's Bower" (Recommended by Julie - Thanks Julie!!)
...a grass-cut maze overlooking the confluence of the Trent and Ouze.
The Man decided to walk around following the path...
...while I took in the view. :-)
We've never been to this part of the country before....
...but I hope I get invited back...
...soon!!

a Wonderful Winter Solstice Weekend!! (Picture heavy!)
Be warned....
...there are loads of piccies....
....but not TOO much talking (here that is...not over the weekend....we didn't stop!!)
We had a wonderful weekend at Arts Alive in Crickhowell...
....Kirsty, Jules, Catherine, Judith, Jan, Bridie, Pauline...and Moi!
Throwing paint and Brusho around like there was going to be no Monday.....
....and covering as many bits of paper and fabric...
...with as many things as we could!
The Markal Painstiks and stencils were VERY popular indeed. :-))
...and, of course, the wooden blocks from Colouricious.
Here is the evidence...
Such glorious pieces....
....so many things yet to finish!!! :-)
(See some of you Chez Nous on Friday. .....there WILL be cakes!)

p.s. ...and I'll try to remember the roll of paper Pauline :-o
