We're back home...not exactly recovered...
...but happy after a brilliant show at the NEC.
It was lovely to see so many lovely friends...
...and meet even more new ones!!
Here are some piccies of my stand...
...with new workshop samples up for the first time.
Here are my Dragon's Eggs on display...
Boards showing Magical Moth workshops, Medieval Tile workshops and Medieval Mice workshops.
Tribal Jewels workshop samples...
Colourful Couching workshop samples...
Sashiko (Japanese inspirations) workshop samples...
I had stressed somewhat beforehand...
...worried that I might not have enough stuff to make a good show of my work.
But...
...it was all for nowt...
...as I actually had two boxes left over with no space left!!
Thanks to everyone who came...talked...commented...hugged...and listened to my talks.
You are all very special people!!

New "Colourful Couching" workshop samples
Here are the new "Colourful Couching" workshop samples for 2018...
...based on a piece of Claude Monet "Giverny" fabric...
...and Japanese themed stencils.
I'm taking these beauties to the NEC with me...
...and the lovely ladies of the Cotswold Branch of the Embroiderers Guild...
...will be working them in July this year.
A few piccies to tempt you...
Hope to see you at the show...
I'm on stand N15 in Fashion & Embroidery.

Block Print & Stitch
...with my gorgeous Colouricious print blocks!!
I've been stitching and beading like crazy this last week...
...getting even more samples done for my workshop with the ladies of Bath EG on Wednesday...
...and then to put up on my stand at the NEC next week.
I'll be sorting out details...
...for new small-panel workshops...
...and if anyone is interested...
...then talk to me at the show! :-)
As with ALL of my workshops...
...I always bring loads and loads of Colouricious print blocks...
...plus pots of paint...
...beads, sequins, bits of fabric, threads, bits of wadding-stuff, colouring pens, etc, etc, etc
...so participants don't have to carry too much.
Enjoy the piccies!!
Happy Monday

Sashiko samples piling up!!
This pile of Sashiko workshop samples is piling up nicely!
I've done the larger pieces...
...and have top-stitched around all the hexagons...
...which I much prefer to seeing them plain.
I know I won't get them all finished before Venice...
...but they won't take me too long...
...and they'll be up on my stand at the NEC in March!! :-)
Now I need to go tidy my table.
I had one avalanche yesterday...
...and there'll be more to follow if I don't move some of the stuff!

Back from Birmingham - Tired but Happy!!
Well!!
i had the most wonderful time at ICHF in Birmingham...
...meeting lots and lots of lovely people....
...and talking my head off! :-D
I got myself pitched on Tuesday ready for set-up on Wednesday.
This was the first time my new "Medieval Mysteries" have seen a wall...
...so I was just a little apprehensive about how it would all look.
After a couple of hours of climbing ladders...
...it ended up like this.....
Looking from the seating area...
Some closer shots of...
...beakheads...
...Medieval tiles...
...sketchbook pages...
...moths and mushrooms (medieval of course!!)
...and a bit of background info...
Overall I was very pleased with the way it looked...
....and it got a LOT of attention and many, many positive comments!
Even though it was a trek...and a few days of intense activity...
...I got back late yesterday feeling that it had been an extremely worthwhile trip.
So, all of you wonderful people that came to talk to me on my stand...
THANK YOU VERY MUCH INDEED!!!
You made my show!! x x x x x x

...bringing things up to date...
Well!
What can I say?....
...about the excursion to the NEC?
Cold.
Snowing.
Snowing some more....
Visitor numbers sooooooooooooo down on last year...
...but a really GOOD show nevertheless!! :-))
Yes...OK....the weather did put a bit of a damper on things.
Slipping and sliding and doing the duck-walk everywhere makes one a little uncomfortable after a while...
...but the brave souls who ventured out, despite weathermen (and ladies) telling folk to "Stay at home"....
...came and made it all worth while.
And, of course, the lovely band of intrepid exhibitors who are ALWAYS there no matter what...
...were an absolute delight....again!
Didn't take many photos I'm afraid, and the ones that I did manage to snaffle aren't good enough to show here.
(I think the camera was a bit cold and the lens seemed to have misted-up. Given that I took the photos first thing, when I'd only just got there...this isn't surprising I suppose :-)
I had loads of requests to travel around and do workshops...
...and more commissions for magazine articles...
...so I have no complaints what-so-ever.
I'll be meeting up with a lot of exhibitors again at the end of this month at "WONDERWOOL"...
...and in May at the brand new "Empress Stitch Show".
Back home now, with a couple of articles still to write...
...and a LOT of work to do for my new stuff and book.
I needed access to certain bits for a specific piece, so we toodled off to ARTIQUE in Tetbury on Sunday.
Luckily, the camera was WARM, and I had no problem taking these for you to drool over!!! :-)))))
I won't include any more as they are HUGE files...
...but you can click on the piccies and get a good close-up and personal view :-)
I had hoped to get my mitts on some Kohistani textiles, but George says that the situation in the region is now so bad that it would be easier to get a sack of rocking-horse manure!
Never mind....I have quite a few good photos from before, so the "three-pieces -of-somethings" that I'm doing as part of my new work can still get done.
I did get a few good "cheats" while there too....
....three different colourways of cotton bobble braid!! (Means that I don't have to sit there with the Clover Pom-Pom makers for hours on end. YEY!!)
With a bit of luck I'll have some sample bits done to show over the next couple of weeks...
...but a rather demanding schedule will, I'm sure, try to get in the way :-o
If anyone is around Brecon this coming weekend, there's a concert in the theatre on Saturday at 7.45. It's in aid of the local hospice and my lovely choir have a slot at the end of Part One.
Come along and put some coins in the tin...it's for a very good cause :-)
See you soon
