October Goddess...

She began when I came across some fabric in my stash... which then got painted... and machine stitched... which became a background for "who knows what?"...

I cut a stamp block in the (vague) shape of a goddess; applied paint from dark to light and printed another bit of fabric...

The same happened with some "letters" - which then got stitched....

.... to be continued.....

how interesting is your site? Very - especially when I start a short course in Indian Kantha stitching on WEdnesday - I would love to know exactly which books you bought from Amazon - they sound so interesting and would make excellent Xmas presents to myself!!

Hi there "jolly good yarn girl" - all the books are in the Fabric Folios series published by the British Museum Press.
Embroidery from Palestine - Shelagh Weir
Embroidery from India & Pakistan, and Embroidery from Afghanistan - both by Sheila Paine. All reasonably priced i.e. under £10. No charts, but the photos are so good that you can easily duplicate the designs. Enjoy. Chris
