Bits'n'Bobs & body parts!

 Yes...

...lots of body parts!

I actually looked for the collective name for "body parts"...

...but failed to find one...

...so...

...answers on a postcard please!! :-D

Sewing and stuffing have been my occupations this last week...

A couple of long-armed "dolls"

Lots and lots of little arms...
...for folk like this one...

A bit of punchneedle work too....

...for those long-armed folk...
...aka "Olde Sturbridge Salem - pumpkin doll"...
...from Doreen Frost - Vermont Harvest Folk Art.

A bit of final stitching...
...and a few pieces of clothing...
...and they'll be done!

Still with Selena...
...I'm making loads of hexie backgrounds for her "sewing sample book"...

...and the istitch designs SAL is coming along...
...although a bit slowly.....

Hopefully I can show something FINISHED in my next blogpost!!!

Hexies Hexies Hexies!!

I'm on a bit of a "Hexie" thing at the minute...

Lockdown has done wonders for my tiny-hexie project (2956 1cm hexies!)

These are ready for flower-making...

These are flowers ready for diamond-making.....

Diamonds waiting for more diamonds....

A different project just beginning....

...and one that should have been done for sometime last year!!!

Keep safe and busy lovely people

Belle d'Alsace

I've named her "Belle"...

...simply because she is beautiful!!

I found her lying, discarded in a basket at an Emmaus...

...and bought her, along with a few others, for 2 Euros.

She was looking a bit "down-at-heel" bless her...

Her clothes were stiff and shoddy.

Her hair was.....

....having a "bad-hair-day".

So...

....I set to work with some sparkly hexies...

...and turned her into "Belle".

She is my little darling from Alsace...

...and doubles as a place to keep my embroidery scissors, pins and needles. :-)

Very pleased I am.

(...and I think she is too!)

Rekindling a love of hexies

So...

...back from this year's workshops and shows...

...and now for the beginning of some well-deserved "me-time"!!

I really feel like I've been running a constant marathon for the last 3-4 years.

I want to have a couple of sloooooow looooong-term projects on the go...

...and hexies fit the bill beautifully!

These are for a wall quilt...

...that requires over 2,950 mini-hexagons. Mini as in sides being half an inch (12mm). :-)

It has begun....

Many have been marked-out and cut...

Loads and loads of papers pieces pile up....

Some were done at Cardiff Quilters yesterday :-) (Nice to be back)

And.....to give you an idea of the size.....

Not only is a wall quilt being planned...

...but some holiday hexies too.

Just drool over these fabrics ready for an eagerly anticipated trip to somewhere utterly beautiful!!

Getting excited now...

Beginning to fix the Hexies...

After tacking ga-zillions of hexies...

...in those lovely Japanese indogo fabrics...

...now to the job of using them.

Just the beginnings of an idea forming here...

...we'll see how it pans out...
