Where am I? ...........and what day is it!!??

Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh!

......all to pot....

....and I swear the floor is moving!

First time for a while that I've woken up in exactly the same place that I went to sleep :-o

Got back home just before 1 am yesterday and still feeling weird. I have managed to get some shut-eye at what would be "normal" times, as I got none at all on the flight back from Bangkok/Hong Kong.

Jet lag aside though.....

...I had an absolutely AMAZING time!

Sorry for the lack of posts.....

...internet facilities made pictures impossible.....

...but I can make up a little bit of ground now.

Don't worry, I will not turn into one of those insufferable folk who bore you stupid with zillions of holiday snaps....

....just a select few to give a flavour.....

...then I'll get back to textiles again in a few days :-)

I have a few textile goodies to play with....

....and a lot of writing to get done in a short time :-o

So....

...I'll bid you adieu for now.....

...and try to get my head around being back in the land of work!

Final Borneo tags

Here are the four strung Borneo tags...

...that folk will be encouraged to make while with me on board.

I'm working on a few pages spreads...

...plus some machine stitched pieces too.

It never stops around here!

I'm having trouble believing that I'll be flying away in less than four weeks.....

...so much to do before then...:-o

These are the final two to go into my "scrapbook"...

...from blues to greens - Borneo begins...

All my Philippines pages are done and stuck into my sample/scrapbook...

...so I spent a couple of hours in the workroom filing away the blues...

...and digging out greens.

I have every intention of doing more when I get there....

...using bits and pieces that I find...

...but for now...

...these are the products of my imaginings :-)

Tags 1 & 2

Stamped seed pods, printed leaves and flowers, lovely batik fabrics and a bit of writing....

....with stitch to finish (of course).

I also used the seedpod rubber stamps to make some polymer clay pieces for some page-spreads...

Preparing for the next trip...

I sat down the other day and worked out how many miles we covered this summer...

...and was amazed to find that we'd traveled over 2000 miles in just  6 (what seemed to be) short weeks!

No wonder we felt whacked when we got back....

...that's a lot of bum-numbing hours in the van!

Thank the lord for the Gladdyvan though. We could never have done this with the tent!

In between sewing on ga-zillions of beads for my "Magic" work....

....and trying to get things ready for the printer....

...I am now throwing some left-over (ha ha) energy into preparing for the next big trip....

...which will be taking me to, among other places....

...HERE!

I've been lucky enough to have been asked to teach on board a cruise ship going down through the Philippines...

...to Borneo and Brunei...

....across the South China Sea to Cambodia....

...and finishing up at Bangkok!

Thrilled or what??!!!...especially as it is during February and early March when the weather here is less-than-perfect!

I have to prepare everything before I go, so I can work out exactly what materials I need to take...

...and provide enough inspiration to (hopefully) encourage folk to continue with their projects when they get back home.

Sketchbook pages have been gesso'd and sprayed and sprinkled with Brusho paints and sprays....

(How did we EVER manage before Brusho??!)

...and beautiful textile materials have been gathered...

(Batiks from Empress Mills...and silks from The Silk Route...)

Now all I have to do is keep my mitts off them all until Harrogate is over!! :-o

....maybe I can give myself a LITTLE bit of playtime now and again?....;-)
