Stages 1....2....3....4....

Just starting a new project...

...with my wonderful Colouricious Paisley Set of wooden print blocks.

Stage 1 - printing...

Stage 2 - adding colour with Spectrum Noir pens...

Stage 3 - shaping, cutting and applying to a felt background...

Stage 4 - machine stitching...

Now for the hand embroidery :-D

Happy Sunday

One of yesterday's prints...now stitched!!

Here's the first one...

...that lovely Colouricious Paisley Mendhi print...

...on Klona cotton (that gives such a lovely crisp print!)...

...stitched around and within.

Yes...it IS time consuming...

...but any job worth doing...

...is worth doing well...

...and you can NEVER have enough seed stitches can you?!

I am very pleased with the way the Spectrum Noir pens fill in without much (if any) bleed.

Just lightly dotting the tip onto the fabric seems to do the trick.

Now I have some more stitching to do...

Printing with Paisleys

I've been doing a bit of block printing this morning...

...using one of my new sets from Colouricious...

...that is actually on HOCHANDA today - 10am this morning and again at 3pm.

Printing works perfectly on Empress Mills Klona cotton.

...and I'm using Spectrum Noir alcohol pens to add some colour detail.

Stitching will come later this afternoon....

Have a creative day.

Crickhowell Haiku Book progress...

I'm running a Haiku Book workshop at this year's Crickhowell Literary Festival...

...so samples are being sorted before we go away.

I've sprayed the background with Brusho (as I simply HAVE to!!)

...and stenciled on one of the "inside" pages using Markal Paintstiks.

A small Sashiko panel has been stitched onto Klona Cotton...

...and some Haiku by Basho have been printed along with some images of the poet.

Hopefully I can get this one done by the end of tomorrow...

...then, all things being well....

....we should be off for a much needed break! :-)

This will be my last blog post until we have got ourselves comfortably installed somewhere a bit warmer...

...and more welcoming than here right now!!

I'll post again as soon as I can.
