Roy Ray....and new brooches.....

I promised Carolyn of "Love Stitching Red" that I would post some pictures of my Roy Ray "indulgence".....a piece entitled "Porthmeor Totem XXXVIII"

...so, here they are.....

The whole thing is about 2 feet long by 3 inches wide.

I've been looking at his work for quite a few years now, so I'm very happy to have a piece at last!

The textures are amazing!

I've been fairly busy since coming back from Cornwall (although probably haven't actually got enough done!).....

..and here are piccies of some of the brooches that I've been working on.

..not quite so "linear" as the first ones - I think I prefer the more "fluid" lines of these latest ones...

I've got a small basketful of finished backgrounds - just need to do the handstitching and beading on them.

Also got a larger basketful of cuffs awaiting the same treatment - 40 of them to be precise - a gallery wants them for Christmas.

So, I spent about three days cutting, embellishing (felting), machine stitching, and hand-stitching and embellishing the end pieces on.....

.....not over-keen on "production" - certainly not THIS part of it...

...I always enjoy the handstitching/beading and finishing of things though.

ps.....all goodies went in the post this morning - so Carolyn, Genie, Eva and Linda should be getting something through their letter-boxes over the next few days ;-)
