Expo Experiments #1

It has now been decided that my "Surface" exhibition...

...with Gerhard Kress...

...due to take place between mid October and early November this year...

...is to be postponed until some time in 2021 (hopefully April or May).

So...

...my deadline has moved...

...but it gives me more time to expand my theme a bit...

...and do more of some things...

...and include extras. :-)

I love my work table right now...

...with a Bowl of Beautiful Bits...

...by Oliver Twists!!

They are getting used in between beads and sprouting threads...

...and when these stamens are all done...they'll go in and around too.

I tried desperately to get stamens in the sorts of colours that I wanted/needed...

...but most are a bit woosy and pastel shaded...

...so acrylic paints have to be pressed into action!!

Still...

...plenty of time for farting about right now!! :-D

Summer Sketchbooks #2

Both covers of Sketchbook #1 have now been sprayed with fixative...

....and so has the front cover of Sketchbook #2 (the larger one).

This one is 11" x 8" (closed)...

...and consists of six long pages bound.

Each page is made of two sheets of paper stitched together...

...some of which have been left open at one (or both) ends to make pockets for treasures.

I think I'll put some reinforced holes in there somewhere...

...to keep things safe with some ties.


I have had a wonderful time choosing threads...

...hopefully in the right colours for my "holiday theme"...

....winding them onto bits of plastic straws...

....and bagging them to pack into my "art box" :-)

I always end up taking FAR too much stuff away with me...

...so, this year, I'm TRYING to pare down to the ABSOLUTE ESSENTIALS!!

There's a whole week to go yet...

...this plan could still fall apart!!
