A glorious weekend of Fields...Fotos ... Flies...and fleecy-things!!

The sun was out...

...and it was warm enough to pootle around without the need of a jacket...

...so pootle we did.

Saturday took us to Kilpeck church in Herefordshire...

...for more photos for my ever-growing "Medieval" passion.

Look at the magnificent carvings!!

After having a picnic lunch in the car we wiggled up the Olchon Valley and ended up in Hay-on-Wye..

...where I managed to find a couple of books (in Greek and Arabic) to use for collage in my cruise samples. Yey!

Sunday was an National Garden Scheme day at the Glanusk Estate...

...amid the most beautiful surroundings ...

Among some of the displays were these amazingly gorgeous flies...

...tied by Stuart Jarvis.

I personally have no desire to stand on the banks of the river trying to catch fish...

...but I could stare at these little tins all day!

Before going home we spent a pleasant hour at Tretower Court and Castle...

...

...where I was able to welcome this little fella into the world with a "Hello you!!" :-)

Oh Happy Days!!

Old teeth finished!

I had a WONDERFUL day at Tretower yesterday....

...loads of things going on and people to talk to.

Don't know if they're running it again next year, but if it's on the same weekend as this....I won't be able to make it as I'm at the Yorkshire & Humber Regional Summer School.

I'll miss Tretower...but will love Bishop Burton College I'm sure :-)

My (not quite) 30,000 year old "teeth" are now finished....

...it's amazing what a few drop of Adirondak Inks can do for Sculpey!!

I now have to drill some holes in a block of wood.....

...apply some double-sided tape...

...and get the finished results in the post to the Editor tomorrow.

Then....

...I've got some samples to get done and photographed...

...for some more arty-crafty weekend workshops at Art Alive this Autumn!!

Oh! Happy Days!!!

..a lovely time in Oxford...

We got back last Friday after a lovely week in Oxford.

...partly "work", with a workshop for the "Deddington Craft Group", a lovely bunch of ladies who threw themselves into making my "Lavender & Lace Dragonfly Panel".

Tea and coffee flowed.....

...and a wonderful lunch was produced by everyone bringing plates of deliciousness. :-)

You can see what a great time was had by that mound of "stuff" in the middle of the table!!

...and every piece was different.

This was the first time for the ladies to have a go at screen printing, but, as you can see from the next couple of photos...

...once they'd had a little trial-run...

...there was no stopping them, and by the end of the morning there were bits of printed fabric over almost every surface in the room!

I think that "Thermofax" will be having a little run on orders sometime soon :-)

Once the workshop day was done, we took the opportunity to spend some time in the Ashmolean.

First off, I headed for the Ancient World....

Cyprus....

...and Crete....

...then shifted downstairs to the textile galleries.

In 2 hours I managed to take 456 photos.

There are a few pieces of artwork going to come out of THAT collection!!! :-))

Off down to Tretower on Wednesday, for the Tretower Festival Day...

...join me if you can....
