We've just got back from an absolutely delightful week in the Cotswolds...
...our little "Christmas Treat" to ourselves...
...a little bit of time away in our Rosa-van...
...before hunkering down for the winter. :-)
I had a lovely Saturday afternoon as a guest of the Cotswold Branch of the Embroiderer's Guild...
...joining them for their Christmas Social.
There were, of course, goodies on sale...
...and I came away with this glorious little tin of silk threads! HAPPY BUNNY!!!
I also indulged at Oakshott fabrics when they had their open days...
...coming away with these wonderful bundles.
i have such colourful plans for them!! :-)
And just in case you were wondering...
...at a flea market in Cirencester...
...I came across this lovely old book - The Girls' Own...
...with it's hundreds of woodcuts/etchings...
I don't know yet what they will be used for...
...but their purpose will reveal itself eventually!
Now I'm switching on the sewing machine for some meditative stitching.....

New "Colourful Couching" workshop samples
Here are the new "Colourful Couching" workshop samples for 2018...
...based on a piece of Claude Monet "Giverny" fabric...
...and Japanese themed stencils.
I'm taking these beauties to the NEC with me...
...and the lovely ladies of the Cotswold Branch of the Embroiderers Guild...
...will be working them in July this year.
A few piccies to tempt you...
Hope to see you at the show...
I'm on stand N15 in Fashion & Embroidery.

A lovely day in Cheltenham!!
On Saturday last....
...I spent a lovely day in Cheltenham...
...with the ladies of the Cotswold Branch of the Embroiderer's Guild.
Well, actually I spent Friday night up there too..
....kindly accommodated by Veronica and David...
...who I had had the pleasure of meeting on one of my cruises last year.
It is ALWAYS so nice to meet up with folk again!! :-)
Anyway...
...back to the workshop...
Everyone was making a stenciled and stitched fabric book cover...
...but the theme was entirely up to them.
So...
...these are what came out of that lovely day...
Quite a few chose the "Lavender & Lace" theme...
...one fell for a dragon....
...another liked the fish....
..a couple went with the "Earth Spirit" idea...
...and coral did it for the hand stitcher!
There was a delightful old Singer machine in use...
...and lots of Markal Paintstiks and stencils....
...along with printed French labels...
The sun shone...
...the sewing machines whirred...
...and a wonderful day was had by all!
Have a great week...
