Here are a couple more bits of my "Tribal Print & Stitch" samples....
...I'm going to try and find a bit of time to write a website page for workshops sometime over the next few days...
...but I have a load of other things going on too. (As ever!!)
Saturday, I'll be down at Busy Bees for their 2012-13 workshop launch....
...where I'll have the opportunity to meet loads of stitching folk. :-)
....and after that...
...I'm working on half a street of little houses for Festival of Quilts.
You may have noticed (or not :-o) ...
...that I've changed something in the right side bar here.
My new work "Stitched in Stone" will now have to be shown properly at Harrogate rather than FOQ....
This heart problem has caused all sorts of problems and I've gotten really behind with things. I've calculated that I've lost a good 6 weeks of working time over the last few months. I've had to call off choir until October too ....
...just struggling to cope with it all. :-(
Hopefully another appointment with the consultant will help.
Only 2 weeks away....
....then....
...two weeks later....
....all the fun begins to happen! :-)

Tribal Print & Stitch......Part 3
Many hours have been spent at the sewing machine over the last couple of days...
...and here are some of the results.
The first leaf-shaped "spear-head"....
...and the second one with the over-printed section.
One of the "body-shapes"...
...with an overprinted section that has also been stitched.
(And yes I DID stitch around EVERY ONE of those little dots!!)
Another "body-shape" with machine stitching done
(But I'm going to use some shell discs on the dots this time I think!)
And just beginning.....
...name suggestions on an e-mail please! :-)))

Tribal Print & Stitch ...Part 2
Yes! I KNOW it's TUESDAY...
...but I'm having such a great time with this stuff and I WANT to share!
You saw the first batch of printed cotton that I did on Sunday...
..well stitching started on these two pieces ....
Then....
...after uploading the pictures to Flickr...
...and calling the top one a "shield" shape....
...I looked at it again and thought...
..."Nope! It looks more like a "spear" than a "shield".....so where do I go from here?"
More print blocks of course....
... leaf-shaped spear variety....
...like this one for a start...
...and another one....
...that I over-printed with a Colouricious block ...
...because who said that spears can't be pretty?
And then, of course....
...I had to give it the "Chrissy-treatment"...
Well....
...a gal's just gotta have fun... :-)))

"Tribal Print & Stitch" .....part 1...
As you know, I'm doing three "Quick & Easy" workshops at the Festival of Quilts this year.
They're called "Tribal Print & Stitch" and will be 1 hour long. (Times are in the right hand side bar.)
To state the obvious....
...we will be printing some "tribal" designs onto cloth and then begin to stitch it afterwards. (I say "begin" because there's not an awful lot of stitching going to happen in the time left after the printing has been done!)
I'm going to be using foam blocks that I've cut myself, alongside these beautiful wooden ones from Colouricious ...
...and, today, I've been having fun with some gorgeous colours and some sponges!
These have been married-up with some thin batting...
..and will be machine stitched first....
...then hand stitched and beaded afterwards.
AND
..(apparently) it's going to be warm and sunny for the next couple of days, so maybe I can stitch on the terrasse :-)
