...I fancy doing something a bit different....

...for a change....

I feel like I'm getting a bit overwhelmed with the "Tribal" theme, and need something else to provide some contrast.

I've always "loved stitching red" cross-stitch....(I'm NOT trying to pinch your name Carolyn)

..and would like to indulge myself in some more "traditional" kind of stitching...

...like this....

...and these.....

(Sorry about some of the wonky photos!)

I'm lucky to have one of those "REPLAY" recycling places nearby....

...and always manage to find some "treasures" when I allow myself to visit!

This time, I found a load of this stuff....

...lovely bits of cottons and linens....

...in just the right colours to go with some "traditional" cross-stitching!

I've seen some beautiful things done on these kind of fabrics in some smart boutiques in France.

So.....

..I'm going to make a start soon.....

..and let you know what happens along the way ;-)

Very sweet cross stitch pieces - looking forward to seeing what you come up with with that fabric!

How can I NOT love these! I have a whole book that's dedicated to red and white cross stitch. They are gorgeous! I also love cross stitch. It has it's place. I posted about your goodies today. I hope you like what I wrote about them. You will see why I love them. Thank you again Chris, I am honoured!

Don't we all need the words "...and now something completely different!" from time to time? To do something different is refreshing and inspiring.
Beautiful little things! I have a book on dutch cross stitch samplers, trees of life and the kind.
Have you seen the samplers from the "Vierlande" near Hamburg?

The patterns are not clear to see, after all, this lady wants to sell her kits.
