Castles in the Rain!..

So, Saturday and Sunday were lovely.

Monday started off OK, but as soon as Bloke got out all the kit to make the wooden bases for the "Guardians", Welsh Weather returned and rain-stopped-play!

I did manage to get this one finished though....

(and here's another one along the same lines, that I'd done previously as a teaching sample)

(Sorry about the poor picture quality, but I did them on the scanner, and because they are so dimensional, the backgrounds tend to blur - you can still see the stitching though..)

Tuesday took us over two valleys and down one....

.and we ended up in Tongwynlais, where, if you climb a bit and look between the trees, you will find THIS....

This is Castell Coch (Red Castle in English), a 19th Century "folly" that belonged to the Marquis of Bute. The foundations are medieval, but most of what you see today is down to him.

...some shots on the inside........

...and a photo of a model of the castle so you can see the layout a bit better!.....

The rooms inside are lavishly decorated, and I'm sure there's a project in there somewhere....

...but, for now, "Tribal" must continue........

....and so, it appears, must the rain!......
