"Vieux Berry" book...

This...

...is the mess that is my desk today.

Loads of pages drying after being glued...

...and when they're dry there'll be more glueing going on again too!

This is my "Vieux Berry" book...

...inspired by a book that I found in a charity shop...

...and read while we were away in Devon over the Easter hols.

The book is called "Celestine - Voices from a French Village" by Gillian Tindall...

...and it's about a girl/young woman, her neighbours and suuroundings in late 19th century/early 20th century Chassignolles - a small village near La Chatre in the old region of The Berry. Thus "Vieux Berry" :-)

I've spent time there on holiday and loved the area. So, it has been an absolute delight to re-visit the region gathering information and photographs to use in my new book.

I've included pages out of "Celestine"...

...old photographs of the region and people...

...photos relating to George Sand and where she lived...

...and also, going back a way...

...to the Ducs of Berry and the "Tres Riches Heures".

I may (at some later date) include some of my own drawings of the medieval wall paintings in the church at Nohant-Vicq, but they're not quite ready to go on public view!

I'm hoping to have it finished tomorrow...

...will post photos as soon as...

Have a great weekend
