A time for a bit of "Hygge"

I don't know about you, but this world is feeling like a not-very-nice place right now.

Folk doing horrid things to others.....like bombing the guts out of an already shattered city...

...so that a power-crazed loony (with the help of his ruskie mate) can rule, absolutely over a broken land and people....

...picking on others because they don't happen to think the same/ feel the same/ look the same...

...or tearing countries and citizens apart en-route to an ever larger pot of money to be shared amongst a small number of men!

It all seems to be about POWER and MONEY.

"Black Friday" (for god's sakes!) lasting from Friday the 25th November to the 4th of December...

...yet ANOTHER scam to try and get MONEY out of folk.

Never-ending so-called "Sales" - is anyone REALLY taken in by this?!

Brexit......(I'm keeping quiet here as it's a sore point)

Approaching Trumpdom... (Can't comment here...he's not my eejit to comment upon)

...and everything else that's revolving around the whole stinking pile of crap!

I DON'T LIKE ANY OF IT!!

So....

...I'm adopting a bit of the Danish idea of Hygge.....difficult to translate (bit like the Welsh word "Hiraeth")..

...but taking it to mean things like comfort, homeliness, well-being, heart-warming and forgetting life's worries....

...and picking up my needle to "stitch things better".

It was good to hear both Kaffe Fasset and Jane Greenoff (on the Create and Craft Channel yesterday and today) talking about how the act of "creating" makes one feel better. It's an escape that doesn't hurt anyone else.....and does a body a LOT of good along the way.

I have said (and experienced personally) how stitching has literally saved my sanity (life even)...

...and now, when I'm down with a bug...

...and have a pair of knees that are causing me pain almost 24 hours a day...

...I'm turning inward and building contentment ...

...stitch...

...by...

...little...

...red...

...stitch.
