South Sea Journey with "Soft Form Relief Paste"

...is what I'vve called these little panels...

They feature the wooden print blocks that are on my Festival of Quilts workshop panel "Oceanic Journey"...

...plus some new "jollop" stuff from Colourcraft that is officially called "Soft Form Relief Paste".

(Colourcraft will be launching this new range on their stand at FOQ, and if you want any before that, just email them.)

This was a joy to work with, but you MUST have patience!....it takes a long time to dry!!

You can apply it to any textured surface......rubber stamps, rubbing plates, ceramic tiles, corrugated plastic, or whatever you have to hand...

I used a palette knife to liberally spread the paste over my surfaces and, because I had stitching in mind, laid some fine cotton muslin on the back then left it to dry for a couple of days. (I did say you need patience!!)

When dry, you can gently peel it away from the surface .....

...just look at the definition you get!!...

....spray it with Brusho sprays....

...highlight it with acrylics....

....and cut it to whatever shape you need.

Because of the fabric backing, these medallion-type pieces can now be stitched onto a heavier fabric for dangles or just as part of a design.

The only limit is your imagination !!!  :-)

Have fun...
