...writing, singing, and a few more brooches...

It's only this morning that I feel that my head is back somewhere where it SHOULD be.

It's been a very tiring few days......enjoyable and rewarding.....but tiring....

A few of us who (now and again) sing with the WNO (Welsh National Opera), were treated to a "Ladies Creative Weekend" at the Ty Newydd Country Hotel, Hirwaun. The idea was that we spend some time on Saturday generating some poetry/lyrics about "windows"; and then the professional writer (Louise Osborne) and composer (Stacey Blythe) would work on it to produce a song that we would then learn and sing on Sunday.

NO PRESSURE OF COURSE!!!

Anyway......to cut a long story short......it was done, and a recording was made. Hopefully we will be getting a copy sometime soon. (If I can work out how to give you a flavour of it, I will!)

The food and service was superb!.....only one cloud on the horizon.......

...a wedding party was taking place right underneath the floor of my bedroom!.....and as the evening went on.....the louder the noise got......

When the bass got so loud that the cups began to rattle on the tray, I had to ask to be re-accomodated somewhere else PLEASE!!!!

The owner came to help me move rooms, and the rest of the night was lovely and quiet....although I didn't sleep a wink because I had so much "brain chatter" going on!

Consequences of this were that for the rest of Sunday and most of Monday, I was so done-in that I couldn't do anything much at all.....

I hate it when that happens. Especially when there's so much to BE done.

However, I did manage to finish off a few more brooches...

....and here they are.....

They'll be going into The Court Cupboard Gallery next week, but if anyone wants a particular brooch, let me know and we'll arrange it.

The sun is shining gloriously here right now - pity it couldn't have done so when it would have been a bit warmer - it's too cold to sit outside and stitch.

But I've got so much to be getting on with, I'm probably better off staying indoors where I can't get too distracted by the lovely day and all the wildlife activity.

I'm off to the workroom to get as much done as I can before leaving for choir this evening......

Oh! Happy Days!
